North Carolina Arts Council—cARTwheels

Background
Research proves that early exposure to and involvement with the arts helps students achieve measurable academic success, including higher SAT scores and advanced critical thinking skills. With that in mind, Libba Evans, the North Carolina Secretary of the Department of Cultural Resources, conceived a touring program designed to stimulate thinking and learning of elementary school students through early exposure to the performing arts. The program is coordinated by the North Carolina Arts Council.

Assignment
M Creative was asked to name and develop the graphic identity and collateral materials for this statewide initiative. The program provides elementary students in North Carolina the opportunity to experience opera and ballet fully and professionally staged. The challenge was to create exciting visual materials that would engage children and their teachers.

Solution
cARTwheels—Arts on the Move was recommended as the name and tag line.

M Creative provided all writing, logo design, business papers, pocket folder and stickers to hand out at the performances.
